do car bras only come in leather like materials?

I know its usually not actually leather, and im fine with that, but do they make any other cool types of bras? like a silicone or something cool? anything, just looking for something different. thanks!

the vinyl bra will rub off the paint underneath, try a silicon self cling from body mods usa, there great.

They’re made of cotton lined vinyl from my exper. They may sell other materials, check JC Whitney, thay have everything you are and not looking for.

Q&A: Planning on storing my 1968 GTO for the winter, what are things I need to consider?

Alright here is the car’s condition:

It is currently flat black covered in what looks like some cheapy black spray paint (no clearcoat, bought it like this) here is a pic:

There is some surface rust on the body, and its starting to flake in some places. I am planning to sandblast all the rust off real soon down to bare metal and then put sealer/primer/2 coats cheap black paint/etc (don’t worry I am giving it a ,000 concours paint job in about a year).

What I’m asking is what are things I need to do to prevent rust/damage because I DO NOT HAVE A GARAGE. This car is like my baby I do not trust it in anyone else’s garage. In other words, this car will be SITTING OUTSIDE for the winter.

In preparation for this, I just bought a 0 Noah car cover that is incredibly waterproof yet completely BREATHEABLE so no moisture will be trapped inside.

Also I will disconnect the battery. I was told to fill the gas tank up all the way full to prevent condensation from rising to the top of the tank leading to rust.

I am asking car collectors or anyone w/ experience/knowledge, is there anything else I should do (ex. how do I prevent spiders/mice or any insect from making nests in places? Do I have to seal every opening? Is this a good idea?) This thing will prob be stored for 3 months. All help is appreciated.

get a car cover and make sure to warm it up or drive it like once or twice a week

To store your car outside you want to have the car over concrete or pavement, this will help keep moisture from rusting the underside of your car over the winter months. You also want to fill the tank up with gas, and add a container of fuel stabilizer to prevent the gas from turning bad. Next you want to place the car on jack-stands to get the wheels off the ground and unload the suspension, also helps in preventing theft. At this point I make sure there is nothing in the car to attract mice, or insects. I put a box of mothballs on the battery tray and the back seat, this keeps away the bugs & vermin.

Even if you store inside spiders and mice can be a problem.
Jack the car up and sit on jack stands.
They have additive that you put in your gas and run motor till it is all the way through your Fuel system. To stop the gas from varnishing
your carburetor.
Try mouse traps or poison, same for insects
Can’t think what they call the stuf for your fuell but they sell it in all automotive places.

How do I get jammed CDs out of car CD player?

Ok, so I let my 4 yr old sit in the drivers seat (car NOT running) while I stood next to my car and chatted with my neighbor for a few minutes.
I now have 3 CDs missing and a jammed CD player.
How do I get them out????

Go to a car audio shop. It’s time for professional help. If you have a previous relationship with them, they may do it for free,

You may lose the Cd’s due to the tools that they need to make the extraction.

heres my how to
1: wash car: hopefully you already know that this does

2. clay car -this removes contaminants stuck to the paint, that normal washing wont get off. You can also clay your windows/wheels etc. I suggest Meguiars smooth surface clay kit.

3. Paint cleaners(aka polishes): These remove oxidation/scratches/stains/etc. They have no protection at all. Different strengths for different paints. I suggest starting with Meguiars Swirlx, and if needed, then step up to Meguiars ultimate compound. Apply in a 16×16 in. section with a microfiber applicator. Work it in for about a minute and wipe off immediately with microfiber towel. Inspect results, repeat or move up to a more aggressive product. Switch to a new pad after every couple of panels, since product and paint will build up in the pad, making them less affective.

4. Pure Polish: These help the paint shine by adding oils to the paint. But do not add protection either. Work best on darker colors and cars with single stage paints. But can still work good on lighter colored cars. Its really optional, since the paint cleaners mentioned above have polishing oils in them. But if you have single stage paint, then definitely use it. Use meguiars deep crystal polish, or their #7 polish. Just kind of message them into the paint, in a 16×16 in. section for about 40 seconds. then wipe off immediately. These can be a real pain to remove.

5: wax: locks in polish, adds protection and shine. Apply using microfiber applicator and spread a thin even layer all over your car, not getting any on plastic/vinyl/pourous surfaces ( itll stain). Let it dry to a haze (usually 15-20 minutes) then wipe off with microfiber towel. Suggest meguiars nxt 2.0 tech wax or their gold class wax

How can i be a car audio installer?

I found out that car audio and video installation is the career i want to do.I been doing peoples cars for about 4 years now.I am not a professional but i do good installs.The problem i am haveing is that i can’t figure out how to do it for a career.I tried some shops in georgia and they want me to have shop exp, but they needed help, go figure.I dont have a co-signer for the schools.So what should i do to get my foot in the door to do my passion as a career.

You should be able to get in the door at a Best Buy or Circuit City. Their installers have no experience, even AFTER working there

I had to finish an install for Best Buy recently because the couldn’t do a remote start on a Pontiac. I’ve had Circuit City send cars to our shop because the couldn’t remove a Mazda 929 radio. It releases with standard Ford tools in 60 seconds.

How do I find the dealer with the best service for car maintenance?

I am looking for a Toyota Dealer for car maintenance. Should I go to the dealer where I bought it? Is there a place I can look up customer evaluations? I live in the south San Francisco bay area.

PLEASE do not use the Better Business Bureau. they selectively pick the complaints to post on their web site, they cater to the business that have accounts with them, why wouldn’t they, no one would want to be a member, and the BBB would be out of business. I learned this from personal experience and talking with the CEO of the BBB in California.

Their are many web sites that list complaints about business and don’t filter the complaints the way the BBB does.

Get a cat or dog repellent and spray the covers and ground around the vehicles. A garage or car cover would be best.

Spray vinegar on the covers. It doesn’t have to be full strength, mix some water in with it if you want an even cheaper solution.

Depends on what you consider “good” gas mileage. I drive a dodge charger and LOVE it. Just get the model with the v6 engine. I get about 30-32 mpg.

Look at Subaru Forester or Outback. My husband and I have a Forester, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Gets great gas mileage, has a 5 star crash test rating (not often can you drop a car from 25ft in the air on its roof and have no damage). We usually drive when we visit my parents, so that is 4 adults. Whoever ends up in the back seat has plenty of leg room and the “cargo” area is spacious.
Better “carbon footprint” then any hybrid.

Honda Accord…absolutely best car for money with best resale value and not alot to spend on maintenance.

I own a 2003 Accord 4 cylinder EX model. I got it a 54k has 90k now and have only put tires on it. The auto transmissions work well. My first major service is 110k and will cost 00 for dealer to service it all.

I would absolutely buy another. My wife loves it, best car either of us have owned.

Oh resale value…. My 03 is still worth 11k

Gas mileage… 25 city and 32 hwy… I get this with car needing service… otherwise 28 and 35

If you don’t care whether it’s a car or SUV, of course get the CAR! There are plenty of sedans that accommodate four, and they’re certainly better on gas and a lot cooler.

The coolest [mid-size] sedan of all is the 4-cylinder Nissan Altima. On top of being the best-looking, it’s the fastest AND has the best mileage — 25 MPG on average. The secret is its CVT transmission. Here’s some good reviews/info on the Altima. http://vlane.com/review_list/2008/Nissan/Altima

Second-coolest is the Mazda 6, which might be getting big discounts since a new 2009 model is replacing it this summer.

How much would you sell a playstation 1 for with accessories at a garage sale?

I’m not sure if this will work for you or not,but you can’t carry a lot of stuff on the bus so just be selective what you take with you . Get a bag and just take the rags, brushes soap and tire cleaner and cleaner for the interior. Just plan everything you will need to have. I would lower the price of the actual car wash since you will be using the water and hose at the customers house. Stress that by your washing the car at the customers home its less likely any damage would happen to the vehicle. Good luck, if you put forth an effort I’m betting you’ll do well.
