Morgan Aero 8

is a rather strange looking car, retaining separate fenders and running boards as on a sports car from the 1930s. At the front is a sloping version of the traditional morgan grille, but below is an air dam and a wide, low air intake to get enough cool air into the engine compartment.

Morgan plans Diesel Series Hybrid Sports Car

Morgan will put two new cars into production during the the next three years to complement its new Eva GT and current range.

Charles Morgan, managing director of Morgan Motor Company, said that one will be called the LIFEcar 2, but was more cagey about the second model saying only that it will be a “fun weekend vehicle”.

The LIFEcar 2 is an electric-diesel hybrid sportscar which will have a range of more than 1000 miles according to Morgan. Matt Humphries, chief sesigner at Morgan, said the other new car is “more extreme, with real entertainment value”.

All-New EvaGT Sports Coupe Brings Modern to Morgan

There's no question that the is a looker; most Morgans are. The British marque's latest niche-tourer has evolved rather nicely from paper to static concept, but the few noticeable changes leave me wondering if they were for the better.

The rear end is fine, but I'm still not sure about that center exhaust situation. Also, those round taillights seem out of place and are nowhere near as elegant as the thin LED strips initially seen in the sketches. The headlights aren't as feline as the original pics either, but they come off as appropriate and are thankfully not cross-eyed.

Really, though, these are discrepancies that would surely be handled if I were as liquid as, say, Gordon Gecko or Les Grossman and in the market for number-one stunning.

After the love-it or hate-it Aero 8, this new Morgan seems to be playing a little more by the rules. Is that a good thing? Leave your thoughts about the new design down below.
